We believe that small businesses are an essential part of life in our town, and that responsible growth and business operations are no less important at this local scale. But we have come to realize that regardless of the popularity or success of a business, rapid growth and expansion can also come with significant challenges.

As concert events at Creekbend, Co have grown in scale, frequency, and volume each summer here in Hope, so have the impacts on our local community members and public resources. So in 2025, this non-profit was formed in order to facilitate an agreement with Creekbend to address growing challenges with increasing sound levels, parking congestion, and safety concerns.

In March 2026, the Friends of Hope, Inc (FOH) board and Creekbend management reached several compromises regarding the impacts of concert events and how they can be addressed - outlined in a community Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by both parties. In April 2026, the MOU was filed with the Alaska Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office as a part of Creekbend's Restaurant Eating Place License renewal.

FOH and Creekbend are now working together to monitor sound levels, parking management strategies, and patron facilities, in order for events to continue to operate successfully, while maintaining the safety and enjoyment of private and public spaces in our community. ​
